Come out to the South Durham Farmer's Market this Saturday from 8am to 12pm to pick up some FREE pollinator plants!
The plants were purchased from Cure Nursery in Pittsboro with funding from the Triangle Community Foundation as part of a Pollinator Program grant award. The goal of the grant is partly to increase the number of pollinator friendly plants in our community, and in that spirit the plants that we will be giving away are all perennials that either produce viable seeds or can be easily divided once they grow to a certain size. In return for receiving the plants, we'd like recipients to plan to participate in a plant exchange in the near future.
You are welcome to invite your friends, family, and neighbors to the plant giveaway!
Varieties include:
Monarda didyma (Scarlet Beebalm)
Sambucus canadensis (American Black Elderberry)
Solidago ceasei (Blue-Stemmed Goldenrod)
Pycnanthemum virginianum (Virginia Mountain Mint)
Allium cernuum (Nodding Onion)
Amsonia hubrictii (Hubricht's Bluestar)
Callicarpa americana (American Beautyberry)
Asclepias tuberosa (Butterfly Weed)
Eurybia divaricata (White Wood Aster)
