WHAT IS A litter leader?
Litter Leaders are volunteers that are committed to litter prevention in Durham. Litter Leaders will be trained on litter cleanup safety, cleanup operating procedures, and the basics of volunteer leadership. Once you have received training, we will provide the resources necessary to be an advocate and leader.

Be a community leader by sharing resources and information about litter prevention
Get to know new spots and new people in Durham
Spend time outdoors making Durham clean and beautiful
Help expand our capacity to do more good!
Litter Leader Requirements
Attend a training workshop
After completing the training, shadow a KDB staff member or experienced litter leader at a litter removal event
Complete 6 hours (about 2-3 events) of litter cleanup leadership a year
Litter Leaders will have the opportunity to earn incentives and build upon their knowledge at select trainings throughout the year.
