Members of the community are invited to join Durham Tech and Keep Durham Beautiful volunteers in picking up limbs, cutting vines, and removing litter in this historic cemetery.
This cemetery holds a rich history as the only African American cemetery for Durham from 1876 to 1942 and is the final resting place for more than 1,500 people. You can learn more about its history at Friends of Geer Cemetery.
