Join the Trinity Park Neighorhood Association on Saturday, April 22nd (Earth Day) from 9am to 11am for a cleanup AND recycling event! Volunteers are needed even for just one hour for this beautification extravaganza. There are several ways to get involved listed below:
Trail and Creek Clean Up at 9:00 AM - meet at the Ellerbe Creek Greenway entrance in the 800 block of Green Street. Bring work gloves if you have them. Trash will be picked up along the Greenway and the Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association will guide volunteers in removing invasive plants along the trail and in weeding the pollinator garden.
Block Clean Up from 9:00 to 11:00 AM - come to the corner of Watts Street and Dacian Avenue to be assigned a territory for picking up litter. Most routes will take less than an hour. Bring work gloves and a bag to collect trash. Some litter grabbers will be available.
Hazardous waste, electronic recycling and textile recycling - drop off from 9:00 to 11:00 at the corner of Watts and Dacian. The electronic recycling is something new for the neighborhood to provide! Bring your hazardous waste (NO latex paint with be accepted) and very worn textiles (that is, something that you could no longer donate to Goodwill or the Durham Rescue Mission), and your electronic recycling. The electronic material will be reviewed by Triangle Ecycling to see what can be saved to use in their training program in electronic repair. Wipe your electronics clean before bringing them.
