Tree Keeper Workshop: Inventory, Pruning, and Young Tree Care

Join us and the City of Durham’s Urban Forestry provision on Wednesday, May 26tht from 4-5:30 PM for a Tree Keeper Training! Open to new and experienced Tree Keepers or to any tree stewards.

You will learn how to use Open Tree Maps, how to properly prune trees, and receive authorization to work on city trees throughout Durham! One portion will be spent inside training and the other portion will be spent getting hands on experience working on trees outside. Tools and light snacks will be provided.

Training attendees do not need to commit to fulfilling all of the volunteer tasks covered. There is no minimum time required to volunteer, however prizes will be awarded to those who commit roughly 5-10 hours per month between June-August!
