Join Keep Durham Beautiful, Northeast Creek Streamwatch, and the NC Invasive Plants Council for an invasive vine removal workday at Glass Jug RTP!
The forested area behind Glass Jug RTP has been overtaken by invasive Chinese Wisteria which is threatening the health of the forest and the native species there. We will be using pruning tools to mechanically remove vines. Volunteers for pruning must be 18+ years of age to participate, due to use of sharp tools. Younger volunteers are encouraged to participate in the workday by helping pick up trash in the area.
Please wear closed-toed shoes and long pants/sleeves to protect your skin. KDB will provide pruners and gloves, but feel free to bring your own tools/gloves (labeled please!) if you have them.
