Please join us to install new planting beds as part of the garden refurbishment and expansion!

Background: The original garden was installed in June 2021 as part of a project funded by the Southeast Sustainable Communities Fund to weatherize homes and install green infrastructure measures in underserved Durham neighborhoods such as Braggtown. Community resident Ms. Liron Leak oversees the garden and has organized youth in the community to grow and harvest vegetables. Due to the garden’s popularity, a permanent fence was installed earlier this year which provides much more growing space, and on July 16th, volunteers will be finishing the installation of new planting beds as requested by community members.
