Join us to weed and mulch a native shrub garden as part of our 9/11 Day of Service! This garden was planted at Southern High School in 2022 as part of a Burt’s Bees Greater Good Foundation grant with the intention of reducing mowed space on the school’s campus, and providing food and habitat for birds.

Please wear close-toed shoes and long pants/sleeves, and prepare to get dirty! Keep Durham Beautiful will provide all necessary tools, including a water cooler. Please bring your own reusable water bottle, hat, bug spray and sunscreen.

We will be removing large clumps of grass using shovels, so this activity is not recommended for children under the age of 10.
