Come join TreesDurham while we pot up trees at Panther Creek Farm. Help grow trees that will eventually be planted in parts of Durham that will benefit most from the countless services healthy tree canopy provides. Then take one home!

Tasks:

• Digging up oak saplings (there are 100’s of them!)

• Creating potting mix and potting up the saplings

• Transplanting oak, persimmon, redbud and black walnut saplings from root pruning boxes to larger pots

•  Organizing potted plants by type

• Bed prep for spring cover cropping—prep for next fall's trees!

• For extra credit, bring your own acorns and any other seeds that would make for future trees for Durham and we will pot them too!

 Please wear sturdy shoes and bring your own work gloves and shovel if you have them. Plenty of extra gloves and shovels will be available.

 We will have a Trees Durham Tree Give Away on sight.  Choose from several native NC species to take home and plant.
