Part of Keep Durham Beautiful's mission is to build and maintain clean, green, and beautiful spaces. As part of this mission we train and ask for the help of our Litter Leaders.

Litter Leaders are volunteers that are committed to litter prevention in Durham. Litter Leaders will be trained on litter cleanup safety, cleanup operating procedures, and the basics of volunteer leadership. Once you have received training, we will provide the resources necessary to be a litter prevention advocate and lead cleanup events.

Minimum requirements include attending at least one training workshop. After your training we ask that you shadow a KDB Staff Member at at least one litter cleanup in that season to practice your newfound skills to lead others in a litter cleanup event. Not only will you be a steward of the land, but you can share that joy and knowledge with people in your community!

Litter Leaders will have the opportunity to earn incentives and build upon their knowledge at select trainings throughout the year.

Join us for an in-person Litter Leaders Training on Wednesday, October 26 from 5-6PM at the City of Durham General Services Building (2011 Fay St).
