Join Keep Durham Beautiful to plant 28 trees at the City of Durham Maplewood Cemetery! We are so thankful to our community donor who has sponsored the purchase of trees for this planting.
Everyone is welcome to come help us plant - no experience is necessary! We have space for about 30 volunteers and will begin the day with a tree planting demonstration. Children under 14 should be accompanied by an adult. Shovels and gloves will be provided; if you would like to bring your own shovels please make sure they are labeled with your name.
Masks required and please practice social distancing. Please wear long pants and closed toe shoes and dress in layers for the chilly weather. Bring your own reusable water bottle to help us reduce waste. Some people like to bring a small backpack to carry along personal items.
Meet in the cemetery at the corner of Kent Street and Jackson St. Park in legal spots along Jackson St.
