Located at the start of the American Tobacco Trail on Blackwell St, just outside the Durham Bulls Athletic Park and along the headwaters of Third Fork Creek, there’s a lovely little pocket prairie that was planted in 2017 by Extra Terrestrial Projects. We call it Prairie Isle.

Join community members for a prairie cleanup day where we will remove trash and invasive and unwanted plants growing in the prairie.

This event is not recommended for volunteers under the age of 18 due to insurance reasons, and proximity to steep cliffs on the back side of the prairie.
