Making room for the holidays or doing some Fall cleaning? Need a way to get rid of unwanted items without discarding them in the trash? Come out to Durham’s Third Annual ReUse Rodeo!
A Reuse Rodeo is a “one stop drop” event that allows residents to donate gently used items to multiple nonprofits at the same time in the same place.
This year’s event will be held at Durham County Stadium. Several local Durham non-profits will be onsite to welcome donated items for repurposing back into the community. There will also be E-waste and Plastic Film recycling and paper shredding on site for your convenience.
Keep Durham Beautiful has partnered with the City of Durham Solid Waste Management Department and Durham County Division of Solid Waste Management to bring residents a day filled with reuse, repurposing, and waste reduction!
Items accepted for donations will be clothing, books, furniture, housewares, appliances, art supplies, baby items etc.
Participating nonprofits and the items they are seeking include:
Habitat Restore - Housewares (all knick knacks, home decor, wall art, office supplies, etc.), Small Appliances (kitchen appliances, humidifiers), Large Appliances (refrigerators, stoves/ovens, washers, dryers, freezers), Furniture (couches, chairs, entertainment centers, armoires, desks, end tables, kitchen tables, etc.), Books (paperback and hardback in good condition), Construction Materials (lumber, hardware, tools, etc.), Electronics (dvd players, flat-screen tvs, speakers)
Holt Elementary School - Small Appliances (shredders, coffee machines), Books (children's), Electronics (tablets, computer, ipods, chargers, radios, electronic games, xbox, wii, nintendo, etc.), Children’s Toys
Book Harvest - All gently used books
