Tree Keeper Training: Pruning Workshop

Thank you for choosing to join us and Durham Tree Advocates. This workshop is FREE and open to the public. If you are interested in becoming a Tree Keeper, this is the first in the set of two workshops designed to certify you as a Tree Keeper.

This workshop will focus on the basics of pruning, a necessary process of removing select limbs that will affect the growing tree’s shape, strength, and even its life span. The next workshop will be taking place on Saturday November 11th and will focus on planting.

What is a tree Keeper?

A Tree Keeper means you have accumulated the knowledge and skills to be able to help assist in other volunteer events and help others learn how to plant trees and experience the joy they bring!

If you are intending to be a Tree Keeper, you need to attend both workshops and we ask that you be prepared to attend at least one tree planting this season and utilize their newfound skill to teach others the basics of tree planting and care. Not only will you be a steward of the land but you can share joy and knowledge with people in your community!

Thank you for being dedicated to Durham's canopy and the trees that make our city beautiful and healthy!

Tree Keeper Agreement
If you are intending on being a Tree Keeper you must agree to the Tree Keeper Agreement. By checking "yes" you agree to be available to help teach others about tree planting and care at an event this winter to fulfill Tree Keeper volunteer requirements.
