Adopt-A-Park or Trail

Did you know that there are over 60 parks and more than 15 miles of trails in Durham? That’s a lot of green spaces to enjoy! If you want to make a difference to your favorite park or trail why not adopt? Or you can make a donation dedicated to improving your favorite park.

Adopt a Park

KDB partners with the City of Durham Parks & Recreation to give people an opportunity to take ownership City parks.

Plant flowers, pick up litter, report damage, rake leaves, and prune trees. There are lots of ways to help improve a park. And it’s fun too!

Adopt a Trail

KDB Partners with City of Durham Parks & Recreation to give people an opportunity to take ownership of their favorite trails and greenways.

Pick up litter, report damage, clear the trial, work with DPR to increase trail usage and make Durham a greener place.

Donate something

If you have a favorite park or trail that you want to help, but you don’t have time to adopt, make a donation!

Donation given to KDB can be earmarked for a specific park or trail, and even a specific project in a specific greenway. KDB and DPR will work with us to facilitate the use of your donation in a way that you like and that the park or trail can really use.

You can also donate tools (shovels, rakes, trowels, etc) or plants/trees! KDB works with neighborhood groups, park adoptees, and others who want to improve the appearance of Durham. Your donation could go a long way toward improving Durham’s GREEN!
