Durham Monster Dash Registration

The Durham Monster Dash is a Halloween themed charity fun-run presented by the Durham City-County Planning Department. The Durham Monster Dash will be on October 26 from 5:30-8 PM and will begin and end at City Hall Plaza. The Dash is co-sponsored by the Durham Police Department and WDXD Durham.

Participants will dress in costume and tour through the beautiful and spooky downtown streets, parks and alleys. A 1-mile route will feature a walking tour of downtown. A 3-mile course is laid out for costumed runners.  The routes will feature Monster Zones where costumed fiends will provide thrills and chills along the route. Runners looking for more exciting race can purchase a “tail” in order to be chase by monsters in monster zones.

Bring your dancing shoes to City Hall Plaza and boogie with WXDU DJ’s. Learn the Thriller Dance for the grand finale’. Prizes will be given for great costumes and dashing abilities. Food trucks will provide snacks for hungry dashers. Check in at Monster Command at city hall plaza to receive your race bag and race number, register and sign the dash waiver.

The Monster Dash is on the evening of October 26th.

4:00-Set up and street closings
5:30-Registration
6:00-Welcome to the Race!
6:30-Race begins for Runners
7:30-8:00 Closing Ceremonies and Awards

Proceeds will benefit charities that enhance creativity and create beautiful environments for children: Keep Durham Beautiful, The Scrap Exchange, GirlsRock, and Kidznote!

In the event of cancellation, race fees will be considered donations to the charities and will not be refunded.
