Fall 2012

Keep Durham Beautiful selected 12 projects from grant applications submitted in the fall of 2012, awarding altogether $5,683. These projects will contribute in important ways to the mission of Keep Durham Beautiful.

  • Birchwood Heights Homeowners Assoc. – Neighborhood Entrance signs & planting – $450.00
  • Bountiful Backyards – Cherry Grove Park edible garden: mulch, plants, seeds, soil – $500.00
  • Briggs Ave. Community Garden – 20 Fruit trees for community orchard – $500.00
  • Build a Better Block with Tootie – Planters, benches, trash cans, paint – $500.00
  • Creekside Elementary PTA – Topsoil, sand & plants for school landscaping – $500.00
  • Durham Community Land Trustees – Supplies & landscape materials for 2012 Make a Difference Day – $500.00
  • Epworth United Methodist Church – Landscaping for front of building – $250.00
  • Hope Valley North Neighborhood Assoc. – Entrance signs & planting – $400.00
  • Kestrel Heights School – Courtyard beautification – $583.00
  • Ninth Street Bakery – Planters, Plants & Compost for Courtyard – $500.00
  • The Scrap Exchange – Soil & plants for landscape of building front – $500.00
  • Top Teens of America – Sign, garden bed, landscaping of historic Pauli Murray House – $500.00
