Grant Program

The Keep Durham Beautiful Grant Program provides bi-annual grants of up to $500 to underwrite volunteer-based projects organized by community members, organizations, or Durham-area teachers who want to take greater responsibility for the environment. Grants are awarded on a reimbursement basis following successful completion of the project. Projects under consideration must be related to KDB’s focus issues of litter prevention, recycling, and beautification.

Community Information Sessions

Information sessions for individuals and groups who want to get started and are considering a grant application will take place periodically during each year. Please read our Grant Guidelines that contain basic information about expectations, and various ways to get your application to us.

Grant Funding

All funding for the KDB Grant Program comes from donations from the public. Grants are awarded by the Keep Durham Beautiful Board of Directors on a competitive basis. Would you like to help us raise money? We love to partner with groups and organizations so contact us and let us know you are interested in working with us to Keep Durham Beautiful!

Reporting

Each grant, when completed, must provide information to Keep Durham Beautiful about the project, and pictures of the project as it progresses. This information is vital to evaluate the project’s success: the number of volunteers involved, how long the project took, and all the successes you had along the way. The grant report must be completed to receive grant funding.  Fill out a Grant Report.
