Keep Durham Beautiful’s first annual Golf Classic began on a wild and windy day in April 2007. But even the wind and the weather could not stop 40 intrepid golf players from braving the elements to have fun and raise funds for our programs! Everyone seemed to have fun, and we raised money for teachers’ grants, neighborhood gateway programs and at assist the City/County Appearance Commission improve the look of gateways into the city on the Durham Freeway.
